About

This aeonium has dark purple leaves that form rosettes that are held on fleshy stems. The leaves have a soft down on them, giving the rosette a velvety look.

Care and planting

Must be kept frost free and dry in winter, however in the growing season water it every 4-5 days, (let it dry out and water again). Use a good soil based compost and add a third grit to help with drainage. Don't over pot.

Uses

Great as a pot plant or planted in the garden as summer bedding. Lift for the winter, unless you live in the mildest coastal areas of the UK where you can risk leaving them in the ground.
