About
Aloe striatula is a bush forming Aloe with woody stems that hold rosettes of shiny dark green leaves that are usually channelled, and the margins of the leaves have small teeth. The spikes of flowers are orange/red and usually produced in summer. This is the hardiest of the Aloes and will take -6, however it needs a sheltered, well drained site. They are particularly successful against the sunny side of your house.

Care and planting
If using as a pot plant keep dry and under cover in winter and use a good soil based compost with the addition of grit for potting if planting in the garden a sheltered well drained site with the addition of grit.
Uses
Makes a fantastic pot plant for an exotic deck or patio, or risk putting it in the garden to give an interesting different look in the garden.
