About
Asimina triloba is a hardy deciduous tree/shrub from south eastern USA. It's the only hardy member of this tropical species. The leaves are ovate and bright green. They have peculiar purple flowers in May/June, followed by yellow bottle-shaped fruit that ripens to yellow-brown and is edible. Can grow to 5m tall and is hardy in most of the UK.
Planting and care
Best planted in full sun, in rich fertile soil.
