This Chinese Catalpa is deciduous tree which is smaller growing than other species. It has long, pale green, broadly oval, often three lobed leaves. In mid-to late summer it produces large, upright sprays of cream, fox-glove like flowers with orange and purple spots in the throat, followed by long, narrow, hanging, bean-like pods.
