Mahonia japonica'Bealei' is one of those plants that are totally hardy, but gives that exotic look when planted. It is an erect shrub with sharply toothed, shiny dark green/blue leaves held in tiers on woody stems. This evergreen plant produces bright yellow fragrant flowers from late autumn to Febuary followed by purple berries.
