About
This is a hardy bizzie lizzie grown mainly for its wonderful variegated leaves in shades of green and yellow. It forms a low growing plant no more than 20cm in height with many creeping stems forming attractive ground cover. The foliage will die back if it becomes frosty, but the plant is hardy and will re-grow in the spring. It has pale yellow flowers in late summer.
Planting and care
Best in moist shadeor semi shade.
Soil
Drainage is important. Add organic matter to help retain moisture in a sandy soil or to open up the structure of a clay soil to stop water logging. A good mulch will also help keep down weeds.
Uses
Great plants for the shady garden border, woodland planting, creating a fernery or as pot plants for a shady spot.
