Paulownia kakakamii (Sapphire Dragon Tree) is a species from Taiwan that has larger leaves and faster growing than tomentosa. Very fast growing tree with large bright green leaves that are covered in fine hairs and lilac blue flowers that look like foxgloves in spring. This tree comes into its own in the exotic garden if pollared in spring it will grow dinner plate sized leaves although you will not get flowers.
