Pseudosasa japonica is an upright thicket forming bamboo with olive green culms maturing to pale beige. Best in sun or part shade to 4m in height with long drooping mid green leaves. Upright and architectural great for screening hedging or a windbreak and make a good specimen.

What you will recieve

The bamboo will arrive in a 3ltr pot and stand 1-2ft tall with 5-6 culms.

Planting and Care

Plant with the addition of some organic matter and water in well do not let the plant dry out in the first six months its in the ground after this it should look after its self. The best food a bamboo can have is its own dead leaves and culm sheaths so leave them to mulch the base of the plant.

Planting position

Angustissima is best grown in semi shade and a sheltered position out of cold winds if growing in a sunny site try and give it afternoon shade.

Soil

Any reasonable soil is ok add organic matter to help the bamboo establish.

Container growing

As angustissima is a clump forming bamboo it is suited to growing in a pot use a good loam based compost and dont let it dry out feed regularly.

Height and Spead

This Bamboo can reach 20ft/6m in height it is clump forming and should spread about 1m in ten years.
